Look to the Seven Strategies for help in generating questions for your classroom. Possible questions include these:
- Strategy 2: What was the purpose and audience for this photograph?
- Strategy 4: Where is the boy in the picture? What is he pushing? What is the first thing you notice about him? How strong you do think he is? How old do you think he is? Do children this age usually have to work this hard?
- Strategy 5: Where might you be able to get more information?
For younger children, begin with simpler questions: Is it day or night? How can you tell? Is it summer or winter? How can you tell? Is the boy working or playing? What do you think he is doing?
